- Bad Company has long been considered one of the all-time classics of 1970s rock. Although their music was a bit slower than some of their contemporaries, it provided just as much punch and soul. The band had primarily consisted of vocalist Paul Rodgers, guitarist Mick Ralphs, bassist Boz Burrell, and drummer Simon Kirke. Like many great collaborative collectives, the band had it's many fights - some coming to serious fist fights - but sometimes that's what it takes to create great art and music. Since the original band's demise in the early 1980s, Bad Company has continued in name throughout the years with varied members coming and going, though always keeping at least one original involved at any given time. The classic format regrouped to do a proper, if short, tour in 1999, which was well worth seeing just to relive their heyday. Following that, the members went their separate ways again, and Bad Company still continues with other people. It is sad to note the passing of bassist Raymond "Boz" Burrell of a heart attack on Sept. 21, 2006. It is also interesting to note that Boz had originally been a singer, who was taught to play bass during his tenure in King Crimson in the very early 1970s. He took those lessons with him when joining Bad Company in 1973.
