- Flame was a definitive San Francisco Bay Area band all throughout the mid- to late-1980s, and even then some. They brand of groove-oriented, melodic pop, hard rock was memorable - for the musicianship and vocals as well as the song crafting. Songs like "Angel" and "Automatic" would keep in the mind even 20 years later when the band performed at the Niles Station Reunion at the Saddlerack in Fremont, CA on Sunday, September 28, 2008. Phil Sullivan's voice was on par as was the rest of the band during their set. The band consisted of vocalist Phil Sullivan, guitarist Billy Harvey, drummer Denis Bostok, and bassist Steve Smith. Now if someone can tell me if I have the right name for the bassist, and who the keyboardist was, we'll all be happy.
