JUDAS PRIEST
Judas Priest has been recognized as one of the most known, quintessential rock bands of the Heavy Metal genre. Since forming in 1970, the band has forged their own signature sound while changing within their format over the years. In earlier days, Judas Priest was not such a favorite of many rock fans, but over the years the Priest gained many converts. The band has primarily consisted of guitarists Kenneth "K.K." Downing and Glenn Tipton, along with long-standing bassist Ian Hill. The band was formed by K.K. and Ian. The original singer, Al Atkins, brought the band name along from his defunct group, but he was soon replaced by now-infamous Rob Halford - who was Ian Hill's then-girlfriend's brother. Glenn Tipton was added just before the recording of the first album, "Rocka Rolla." With an ever-changing drummer line-up, and a 12-year departure of Halford (since returned), the band has continued onward.
